Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has designed a unique keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the company. It is constructed of Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight keys, as well as a booklet featuring never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

This is the perfect way to greet a new vehicle owner.

Aesthetics

Bentley is a firm that takes its aesthetics very seriously. It is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting, the selection of leather from the by-products of cattle, wood from sustainably managed forests and the innovative patterns on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you drive by to show its sculptural beauty and power through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top vehicle. Its rear tonneau, as an instance, featured the largest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and ns-solution.co.kr champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and web011.dmonster.kr hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this bespoke design, auto quality and attention to detail that has established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The company continues to push the boundaries using the most advanced technologies and hand-crafted products. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear sunroof and a crafted Apple iPad docking station.

A century after its inception, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership following years of wrangling with BMW was able to celebrate its centennial in 2019. The company planned a range of special events and launches to commemorate the historic occasion before the planning of a pandemic became a priority.

Design

Bentley is famous for its luxurious and ostentatious automobiles however, even the keys are designed to make a statement. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver. It features a large 'B' logo that lets everyone know you drive a Bentley. The key is also embossed with the dates 1919 and 2019 to commemorate the company's centennial.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and improved by Bentley Mulliner to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats were designed to offer passengers unmatched comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxurious private aircraft. A customized heating, air conditioning and ventilation system was designed to give each passenger the perfect climate control setting.

The Mulsanne is equipped with twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine that generates 560bhp as well as 479lb-ft torque. This incredible power is complemented by a brand new suspension system that provides Bentley's trademark smooth ride.

Bentley has introduced a special specification for cars built after the year 2019 in order to celebrate its centenary. This is known as the Centenary Specification. The cabin is equipped with cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered with Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a custom bentley key cover keycase to complete the Bentley experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key has two buttons: one that opens the trunk, and another that turns on the vehicle. The key also includes a switch to turn on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight spot. Using this feature can help you get into and out of the car more easily.

The key is made of vegetable tanned leather and takes two days to make each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched after which it is sealed and polished to create a high-end result. It is compact and strong and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is reminiscent of the Volkswagen Phaeton's big car key, however it feels more heavy and premium.

It is also equipped with Secure-A-Key which can help prevent keyless entry theft. This device is inserted into the remote-control fob, and it shuts it down when the key has not been used for a short period of time. It blocks thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which will allow the key to be opened and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design is a reflection of the values of the company that include fine craftsmanship engineering expertise and modern technology. Over 4,000 employees are employed at the Crewe headquarters, which is responsible for the design, development and production of Bentley automobiles. These workers apply techniques passed down for generations and apply them to the latest in automotive technology. This is the hallmark of British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their car. Guests sit at a series of pictures referred to as "mood stations" and pick a set of photos ranging from picturesque vistas to sporting events - that will inspire them to design their own. Each time a selection is made the pattern that emerges is the model preference for color, style and design for the personalized Bentley.

The configuration that is created is saved to individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards which are handed out to the guests in a custom-made key case. Keys can also be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening path with the owner's name and/or emblem when they make their way towards the vehicle.

Bentley claims it takes about 500 man-hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. The key to this time-consuming effort is a conscious refusal to embrace the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers do not use a machine to space perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built in sensors guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spots drivers must do it by hand.

Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization skills with a unique Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays tribute to founder William Osler Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars are available in 100. the key with a special design that shows a slice of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
